Application poster for HOISZN 009 the hope issue

The world might feel heavy, and the news might be loud. But beneath the noise, there is a quiet, stubborn resilience. In the next issue of HOISZN, we aren’t just looking for a silver lining—we are documenting the people, the projects, and the dreams that refuse to dim.

This is a celebration of the strength it takes to keep building, keep dreaming, and keep showing up for a future we’re making for ourselves.

For HOISZN 009, we’re inviting artists, writers, poets, makers, photographers, and designers to explore hope as a form of resistance. The dreams that refuse to fade. The creative pulse that keeps us moving toward a better tomorrow. Shared success and snapshots of togetherness. We invite you to document the ways we hold each other up when the world feels heavy, proving that hope is best practiced in company.

The brief

  • Applications are open to all creative mediums, including but not limited to: fine art, design, film, music, poetry and writing.

This edition of HOISZN will maintain a strong focus on visual art with select opportunities for written contributions.

If you’re working on a piece that explores hope, stories of resilience, community or strength— send it our way.

We’re especially interested in nuanced works, experimental forms, visual storytelling and writing that sits somewhere between manifesto and cultural observation.
